The PS84 Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a non-profit organization focused on fundraising and community-building events and initiatives for the PS84 Lillian Weber school.  As parents and teachers at PS84, you are automatically members of the PTA. One of the key factors that make PS84 a successful school is a strong PTA with active parents and teachers working together to enhance our children’s education. One peek at our rooftop garden and you’ll see what we mean!

Nowadays, it takes a village to run a public school. Especially in New York City! The various initiatives that contribute to the basic -- as well as enriching -- needs of our students require funding beyond what the Department of Education provides. Therefore, the PTA relies on the generous support of parents to bridge the gap between services funded by the city and all the wonderful programs and resources that PS84 believes are critical to fostering well-prepared, well-rounded students including:

• Teaching Assistants (TA)

• Admin Aides 

• Environmental Science program and garden supplies

• Librarian and library supplies

• Student academic enrichment programs

• School arts programs

• Academic coaching support

Direct donations account for about half of the  funds raised every year. The balance of PTA income is raised from our not-to-be-missed fundraising initiatives.  These events raise critical funds, but they are also FUN and celebrate our wonderfully diverse community.

Get involved with the PS84 PTA! Attend an event, donate to a fundraiser, attend our monthly meeting, or volunteer with us. See the PTA Calendar below. Please remember the PTA is as good as what we put into it, and your involvement makes a tremendous difference in the school experience of your child and all of our children.
